Colombia has introduced a temporary fiscal measure targeting the online gambling sector to address the economic fallout from severe flooding across multiple provinces. Through an emergency decree, the government has imposed a 16% consumption tax on digital wagers, applicable to both domestic and international operators. The initiative is projected to generate approximately Rs. 19,000 crore (from COP8.6 trillion / $2.3 billion) for the 2026 national budget.
